‘Ian Burns: In the Telling’ (2012–13) exhibition review

Much of the excitement lay in encountering Burns’s work for the first time and the rewarding experience of actively engaging with it. There is potential for boredom once this intrigue has waned, as there were no additional surprises to unwrap. Perhaps this is intended as a statement on a contemporary image-saturated culture with ever-diminishing attention spans. Burns aims to challenge the way we consume visual imagery. – Alison Lasek
